The solar panel powers the computerised cleverness at the bottom of the pole so the cannel levels can be controlled from the office 40 kilometers away. Unfortunately roly polies currently filling the channel will have to be burnt and they need a person to do that so no water coming down the channel yet to fill up the dam for the cows and Basil.
