snags in the yanko creek

If there are any fish still in the creek they have lots of breeding habitat to choose from.

jasmine

Without any help or watering the jasmine is flowering profusely and attempting to smother the tank which used to gravity feed water to the garden - maybe the jasmine thinks there's water in the tank.

twenty years ago today

We went to London to visit the Queen.... no, no actually we went to the Tower of London to see the crown jewels and it was the day after The Great Storm. Huge trees had been blown over, even inside the Tower grounds. People were busy with chainsaws cutting them up into truck sized bits to take away.I wonder if people would be allowed to mingle with uprooted trees at a tourist attraction these days.

gazinias and lilacs

These gazinia flowers always seem to thrive however dry it is but I thought lilacs like a bit of moisture...
this bush is about thirty years old, still only two foot high, more than half dead but still manages to make flowers even if they are bonsai. A watering with the hose would probably kill it.

springtime in the riverina

Some rain would have been nice - in August and even a bit in September but it's too late now.
