This is the biggest blob of blue I've seen and it made a lot of puddles here
the gutters had trouble of course and my overflow catching bins were soon full up
the barometer sunk very low, it went down to 998.9 hPa. We seem to be heading for a green Christmas - weeds, humidity causing mould on bread, blanched almonds in the cupboard etc. We are not used to this tropical sort of summer masses of rain and heat.

mystery tree under attack!

I hoped to find seed pods after the pale yellow wattle flowers on this mystery tree to help identify it but instead found these voracious leaf eaters at work. Each black dot is a caterpiller.
And here they are leaving their nest and heading off stage right along a branch to defoliate and distress the mystery tree.

The thunder storm moves off to the east early this morning after deluging us with a nice downpour of rain
and now the raintank is overflowing.
