bore drilling

The drilling for water started on Thursday last week and stopped after 30 meters of clay when they reached sand. They should come back on Wednesday with casing so the drill can continue down to good water at about 100 meters - we hope.

willy willy

Summer rain brought up lots, no more than lots, zillions of burrs so they have been sprayed with chemical by tractor, aeroplane and helicopter, ploughed up and slashed. Also optomists are busy working up ground to plant a winter crop of wheat, barley, triticale, oats etc. so now there is an abundance of bare dirt around making windy days very dusty and some interesting willy willys.

beecicles?

The bees were exceeding buzzy for hours and I hoped they were planning to leave my roof and find a home elsewhere but so such luck.

under the flight path

This could be QF580 from Perth to Sydney eta 17.45 and still about an hour away, or QF756 Perth, Adelaide to Sydney, eta 17.20. I don't think it is descending for landing but even I could make out the red tail (the bit with the kangaroo on) with the naked eye + glasses.
