The cows come to the yards to get a drink at the trough, the only water on the farm, then they just chill out (now the temperature has dropped nearly 20 degrees C from the extreme heat of late January and early February it's easier) until it's time to go and hunt for something to eat up the far end of the farm. Be useful if they could eat flies.

bushfire smoke

Since the bushfires started in Victoria and the wind changed to a southerly, we have been getting lots of bushfire smoke up here (350km north) so we have had smokey sunrises, smokey sunsets and just generally smokey days. It is beginning to clear today.

clouds

The sun usually rises quite uninterstingly but this day we had clouds which make all the difference. The two photos were taken about 50 minutes apart. What would be nice now is the sort or clouds that make rain - and a drop in temperature.
